Good day friends,
Grace and peace be unto you!
Our word for today:
Acts 20:35 (NIV) In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”
Paul was sharing with us that it is more blessed to give than to receive. Don't get me wrong I love a great gift, it speaks to my love language. However, it is SO cool to see a person's face lights up when you give them a gift that they did not expect. Friends over this holiday season be a blessing to someone with no expectations. Too often we go into dept trying to buy the newest gadgets when some people in our lives really just need our time and attention. Listen to what is really being said by your friends and family. Yes, their words might say electronics but what do they need.
I thank God that my kids figured out that Christmas is not about buying a bunch of junk. If we are honest we buy what we want when we want it. We don't have to tap into the lie that at certain times of the year we must go in debt to prove something to people that are in debt themselves. Be willing to bless someone or an organization with your time, talent, and/or treasure. It will come back to you.
Until tomorrow #liveBlessed
