Good morning,
Grace and peace be unto you!
Motivation for today will be centered around the word consistent.
Before the earthquake, this morning, I heard clear and distinctly don't be in such hot pursuit for money that you forget to pursue the giver. In other words you and I can not be so concerned about making and getting money that we stop pursuing God.
In my years of observing people and their behavior one thing is consistent and that is the inconsistency of people. Too often when we are down and out we seek God and want him to break open the heavens for us. Turn water into wine and put coins in the mouth of the fish for us, but as soon as we get those coins and we can rub them together we are out. When we were down there was not a prayer group, prayer line, or prayer meeting that we missed but when we started getting it together it wasn't important anymore.
In the day that we are in we need some consistency. Time out for being wishy-washy. It is time to stand our group. Yes, I talked about it from a spiritual connotation but we need consistency in every aspect of our lives. On our job, in our home, in our community work. Are you dependable? Can anybody trust you to follow through?
Our society is full of starters but where are those that will work the thing out to the end? Where are those that are not afraid of hard work and long hours? You have to push past all of the no's until you get to the yes and then fulfill your promise.
You can not be so one dimensional that you miss the 3-d gift that has been prepared for you. Be consistent. It's alot easier to remember what you've said, what you've done and where you've been.
Pursue the giver and the gift will come along.
Until tomorrow
