Wednesday Word

Good morning. Grace and peace be unto to you !
Today's word of encouragement comes from Psalms 121:1-2
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

As I have spent the last few days on the coast, I find myself surrounded by incredibly large trees. Trees that are so massive that you have look up. Makes you feel kind of like a little kid. How tall is that?
The psalmist is telling us to look up. He uses the hills. I didn't do the research to find out why he chose the hills I am sure there is a scholarly reason then the one I'm  about to lay out, but here is what I hear God saying.
Get your eye up and away from your circumstances. When your eyes are fixed on a target it is easier to move toward it. What are your eyes on? This does not mean that we ignore what is happening around us, but it means we are not so  fixed to it that we allow it to side track us from the plan of God. When we can get our eyes on the heaven there are no worries about who is or who is not with us.
Verse two tells that our help comes from the Lord. That is mighty good news. The Lord that made the heavens and the earth is so concerned about you and I thst he sends us help in our time of need. My God.
We are not walking alone. If I get my eyes off my problem and them lifted up to where I want to go my provider, protector, strong tower, is going to send help. That shouting ground right there. We are not walking alone.

And as always remember to. . . live Blessed

Good morning. Grace and peace be unto you!

What are you willing to do to get to where you want to be? All of us would like to ha e a magic wand that would fix everything in your lives but that is not a reality. However, reality says you have to work to achieve whatever you  want in life.

Dream a little bigger than what you  can do on your own. If what you want to do is easy and in your reach its too small. It's easy to allow the unknown to scare you.  No matter what happens you win. A win is a win and loss is a win. You learn from both. Do give up on your dreams. You're not too old, too poor, too dumb. Find someone that will act as your engine to connect to your train and move you to the next station. Don't just sit idle. You've got to come moving toward your dream.

Good morning. Grace and Peace be unto you!

Wow, ladies, we are only one day away from our Saturday Series Workshop.

I just want to share with you a few things to think about for yourself and also to think through who you will bring with you.

*We as women can be our own worse enemies. We can be so critical and hurtful with our words and deeds toward each other.

*Sometimes our mothers can link to our self-esteem. What were the messages she spoke in your life?

* We as women don't talk about how we hurt each other while we truly need to be helping each other

Join us and let's talk about these items along with some other topics that I promise will free from the messages that are playing in your head. Before we can save our daughters we have to heal ourselves. You can still register

Wednesday Word

Good morning. Grace and peace be unto you!
This morning's scripture comes from
Proverbs 24: 3-4 It takes wisdom to build a house, and understanding to set it on a firm foundation; It takes knowledge to furnish its rooms with fine furniture and beautiful draperies.

Building a house is more than just getting furniture  and making all frilly. It is taking the time to listen and move as directed. If we ask for wisdom God will give it us. Once he speaks we have to act.

The foundation of our house has got to be the word of God. There is nothing stronger or more stable then the word of God.

I like this metaphor of a house to talk about our lives. We dress the outside up but what is on the inside? There are many hoarders that have a great looking yard  and outside, but the inside is a total diaster. What does you house look like on the inside? Yeah I know there as that one room nobody goes in and that junk drawer. I'll give you that. What about the rest? The amount of clutter around you is a reflection of you stay if mind.

Would you allow a pig with all of his filth to come into your beautiful decorated home? If not then kick the devil to the curb. Stop allow the clutter of the enemy to mess up your beautiful house.

And as always remember to. . . live Blessed

Good morning. Grace and peace be unto you!

Romans 12:2 says Do not be conformed to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing if your mind.

Are you a pessimist or an optimist? The world teaches us to be pessimistic. To look down on the efforts of others if they don't measure to our standard. Our society is so quick to praise people for their giftedness, in the name of building confidence, however when "success" is not achieved through this same giftedness we are devastated.

But we can not allow ourselves to be conformed to this mindset. Optimism says whether I succeed or fail I still win. Both cases are a learning experience. We must take the lessons learned and use them as building blocks to move to the places God has prepared for each of us.

We must be the thermostat not the thermometer. It's up to us to set the temperature not just measure it. Women of God we are to be the tranformation we want to see in our world. This begins by transforming our thinking and sharing the positive with others.

Let them read your experiences, both the winnings and the losses. Within each chapter are some laughter and some pain.  All of which is to make you stronger and more resilient.

Keep writing and even throw in a few illustrations. You are brilliant and world needs to know. Flip the page. Don't stop.

Friday Findings

Good morning. Grace and peace be unto you!

I just want to share some great scripture this morning as it pertains to Good Friday. No this, not just a day out of work or the day the bank is closed, it is a day for us to reflect on the life, death and the ultimate resurrection of Jesus.

Romans 5:6-10 - "You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!"
1 Peter 2:24 - “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”
Isaiah 53:3-5 - "He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem. Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed."
How wouldn't you serve a God like this? A God-man that laid down his life so that you could be saved from the world of doing things on your own.

Thursday Thoughts

Good morning. Grace and peace be unto you!

Like in sports you need a coach that leads the team to greatness, your life needs coaches as well. People that are there to speak light into your darkness. Reason into your chaos.

What do you to move forward? Do you need help with your business, life, relationships, money, personal image, leadership skills or just a nudge to get going. Don't wait start today. Realize these people are the people that look the busiest. Don't be afraid to stop them and as for their assistance. People that have it together are not afraid to tell you if they have too much on their plate. You will never know if you don't ask.

You have been paralyzed way to long. You must allow some to speak to  uncultivated parts of you. There are people assigned to you life you just need to connect with them.

Wednesday Word

Good morning. Grace and peace be unto you!

As I was reading this scripture popped out to me.

Romans 18:17 And we know we are going to get what's coming to us - an unbelievable inheritance! We go through exactly what Christ goes through. If we go through the hard times with him, then we're certainly going to go through the good times with him! 18 That's why I don't think there's any comparison between the present hard times and the coming good times.

I was just thinking about a dear friend who's child was taken from her very tragically by death.  She has spent an agonizing week processing the fact that he will never walk through the door again.
Then I thought what it must of been like for Jesus' mother to watch her son being beaten, spat on and humiliated. Even though he told her and the disciples the outcome her flesh felt her child. She longed to do something to ease the pain of her baby. Yet nothing could be done.

The scripture reminds that even though times are horrible right now there is a better day ahead. A chance to wipe all tears from our eyes and rejoice. It is all in God's timing.

It is dark but the sun will shine again.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) is an annual campaign to raise public awareness about sexual assault and educate communities and individuals on how to prevent sexual violence.[1] It is observed in April.

Each year during the month of April, state, territory, tribal and community-based organizations, rape crisis centers, government agencies, businesses, campuses and individuals plan events and activities to highlight sexual violence as a public health, human rights and social justice issue and reinforce the need for prevention efforts.

The theme, slogan, resources and materials for the national SAAM campaign are coordinated by the National Sexual Violence Resource Center each year with assistance from anti-sexual assault organizations throughout the United States.

Good morning. Grace and peace be unto you!
I just wanted to share a thought with you about the sabbath. Too often this concept has been made so complicated. Simply put,  a sabbath is a day of rest.
In our crazy busy world we must take a sabbath, a time of rest each week to refuel for the journey ahead. During your sabbath your mind, body and spirit must spend  time with  its creator to truly receive the most benefit from this time of rest.

"Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy." Exodus 20:8–11

Monday Motivation

Good Morning. Grace and Peace be unto you !
Today I want to share with you some information from a blog I read in the Huffington Post. It so easy to get caught up in the pursuit that you loose sight of taking a break and charge your battery. Enjoy!

Take a Break to See Career Success
I can’t begin to tell you the number of blog posts I read about “the grind”. That notion that if we’re sleeping for more than 3 hours per night, taking care of ourselves, and spending time with family and friends, then we’re somehow not working hard enough. While I’m sure many of you also enjoy the feeling of crossing something off your to-do list, taking time to recharge and take care of yourself is critical to being successful. Studies have shown that without taking breaks, you’re prone to making more mistakes at work, have less focus, and reduce efficiency.

Rachel Koretsky, CEO and Founder of upace, is a big supporter of taking time for yourself when it’s possible and is teaching college students how to develop healthy ways of recharging to help them become more successful in the long run. Her favorite way to beat “the grind” and get back some level of sanity? Fitness.

“It is so easy to get caught up with work, stress, friends, and social media that it becomes easy to forget about your own wellbeing. Finding some ‘me’ time, even if it is just 15 minutes a day, is crucial to finding balance in our hectic, busy lifestyles. This time could be for meditation or exercise to help you de-stress, rejuvenate and prepare for rest of the day.

I spend my ‘me’ time in the gym, some days it is yoga and others I run, I listen to my body and do what feels right for me on that day,” Koretsky shares.

Her love for fitness wasn’t always easy to achieve. “When I was a student at American University, I grew frustrated with the wait times for machines at the fitness center, with white board sign ups and overcrowded group fitness classes. One evening, I particular, I went to the gym 40 minutes in advance for a Zumba class and while waiting I kept thinking, ‘Why isn’t my university just allowing for advanced class reservations?’ Ultimately, these inconveniences interrupted my routine; I stopped going to the gym. It struck me that fitness shouldn’t have to be so inconvenient.”

Even if you’re not in college, it’s never too late to develop ways to de-stress in a healthy way. Koretsky shares why it’s important.

Increased productivity in school/work
“Research states that if you workout 3 times a week (at least 30 minutes each, less than 2 hours/week) you will see benefits such as increase in GPA and retention rates.”

Better mental health
“It is important to find types of fitness that help you rejuvenate mentally so that when you are having a bad day, feeling depressed or anxious you know what you can do to help yourself. When you feel you need the mental energy boost this is when you should make a reservation for personal training, fitness class, or cardio equipment to motivate yourself to complete the workout.”

Better focus/attention
“Fitness should become a part of your weekly commitments. For example, on a Sunday afternoon make three fitness class reservations for the week. Having a set schedule will allow you to focus on your work and feel accomplishment when fulfilling your weekly commitments.”

Reduced stress
“We all experience stress differently and that is why everyone needs to find their activity to ‘de-stress’. It may be practicing yoga, playing basketball or boxing but the first step is most important to recognize your stress and knowing what activity is right for you.”

It makes you happy and healthy
“I firmly believe that fitness should be about your needs and only yours. It is easy to get caught up in fitness trends and before and after Instagram pictures but remember fitness is about finding your own pace. My hope is that everyone is able to listen to their mind & body and find the different types of workouts to help you tackle each day with confidence.”
