Wednesday Word

Good Wednesday morning,
As a scroll through twitter and facebook, I have to ask the question. Is this what the end times looks like? Wow, have we gone mad or just got to far away from God? The fact that we have two dishonest and not so trustworthy people running for the highest office in our nation to the fact that innocent people are being gunned down in our streets, What is going on?
Check it out for yourself 2 Timothy puts it this way.

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.6 They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over gullible women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, 7 always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth.

Wow,  this definitely describes what we are seeing today.  I'm not preaching he'll and brimstone but I am saying we need to open our eyes and be aware of what's going on around us. Invest love into someone today.

Good Morning
Some of you have books in you that God is pushing you to write. Here are some practical things to get you going.

How to write a book: Nikki unpacks her process.
There’s a lot more that goes into writing a book than you might realize. It’s not only about sitting in a chair and pounding away on a keyboard. You’ve got to know how to organize your thoughts, how to plan the book out in a logical way, how to build a following BEFORE you write the book, and how to publish and promote it once it’s written. Nikki Woods is here to help. Her generous sharing on this episode will help you get oriented in the right direction to get that book out of you and into the world!

After you’ve written a book, what do you do with it then?
It’s a monumental task to write a book that’s worth reading. Even if you haven’t gotten over that hurdle yet, you will if you keep working at it. But once it’s written – then what? You can’t expect to announce it on your Facebook feed and sell thousands of copies. It simply doesn’t work that way. You’ve got to know how to promote a book the right way – the way that gets people’s eyes on it and their wallets out to purchase it. Nikki Wood has that part of the process wired and will be sharing aspects of it with you on this episode, so be sure you listen to what she’s got to share. Friday Findings

Good morning,
I want share with you a reviw from
LaJoyce Hunter Brookshire new stage play.
According to Karen Harris. The stage play of her bestselling book, #FaithUnderFire was amazing. The acting was unbelievable (actually, very believable). They hit every mark and brought a story that could have been tragic to the stage with humor and hope. Faith Under Fire on Stage was FIRE. If you haven't seen it already, you have one more day to get to Harlem's National Black Theatre and check it out. Or see where it's heading next at www.faithunderfireonstage.org. Thank you, LaJoyce for including me in your journey. You are an inspiration!

If you have not heard her story here is a link to her book. She is truly inspirational. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0013OE6FW/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?_encoding=UTF8&btkr=1

Wednesday Word

17

Good Morning My Friends,

I am so glad to share with you this morning.

Isaiah 54:17 says, “No weapon that is formed against you will succeed; And every tongue that rises against you in judgment you will condemn. This [peace, righteousness, security, and triumph over opposition] is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,

And this is their vindication from Me,” says the Lord.

So many times we fall apart when situation rise up against us and people question our relationship with God but, take heart. Weapons will form but they WILL NOT prosper. Then we skip down and it says we will have peace, righteousness, security and triumph over opposition. See when we allow God to fight our battles we come out victorious. It doesn't matter what people have to say, We win. I challenge you this week not to get fretful when the enemy forms situations against you. Start praising God for your peace, righteousness, security, and triumph over the enemy.

Thursday Thoughts

Good morning
Just a few thoughts. Transition can be difficult because you don't always know exactly where God is taking you, but just relax and enjoy the ride.

You are not defined by your position but by your purpose, so make sure you are fulfilling your purpose.

You are empowered to be a blessing to someone else. Find that someone else.

Wednesday Word

Good morning,
I just wanted to share a verse with you that stood out for me thus morning.  It is from 2 Corinthians 3:18.

All of us! Nothing between us and God, our faces shining with the brightness of his face. And so we are transfigured much like the Messiah, our lives gradually becoming brighter and more beautiful as God enters our lives and we become like him.

Wow, God just wants us nothing in between,  just us. Eventhough he knows how ragged our lives can be, at times, he still wants us and longs for us to come I'm his presence. This why we are called to be salt and light in the world.

The totally awesome part is when get in his presence it changes our very countenance so that we are brighter. I know I'm not the only one that has been around people that are just dark. But his presence makes us bright. And the more I'm transfigured by him the more I become like him. I hope you are as excited about this word as I am.

In this season of transition I want to be in his presence and I want to be transformed by his power. How about you? Love you to life. Get in his presence.

Good morning,
WOW these Olympic games are giving us so much to be proud of.
For those of you that don't know,  Simone Manuel was the first black women to win swimming gold. What a historical moment in light of the fact that "Black people don't swim", or so the stats show.
There must be something about that name Simone. Lol

In light of all of the craziness,  that is going on in this world I wanted to share a few happiness quotes, adopted from Happy Black Woman. I hope that you find something that resonates with you. #Happyblackwoman

Happiness

  • “I am a feminist, and what that means to me is much the same as the meaning of the fact that I am Black: it means that I must undertake to love myself and to respect myself as though my very life depends upon self-love and self-respect.” – June Jordan

  • “If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.” – Maya Angelou
  • “I will not have my life narrowed down. I will not bow down to somebody else’s whim or to someone else’s ignorance. ” – bell hooks
  • “Don’t wait around for other people to be happy for you. Any happiness you get you’ve got to make yourself.” – Alice Walker

  • “Surround yourself with only people who are going to lift you higher.” – Oprah Winfrey
  • “There is always something to do. There are hungry people to feed, naked people to clothe, sick people to comfort and make well. And while I don’t expect you to save the world I do think it’s not asking too much for you to love those with whom you sleep, share the happiness of those whom you call friend, engage those among you who are visionary and remove from your life those who offer you depression, despair and disrespect.” – Nikki Giovanni
  • “The times may have changed, but the people are still the same. We’re still looking for love, and that will always be our struggle as human beings.” – Halle Berry

Wednesday Word

Good morning,
I woke up this morning with this scripture on my mind.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. This passage from Romans was just a reminder to speak up for the gospel.
There are so many crazy things being brought forth in our media until it is hard to distinguish right from wrong. But, isn't that the trick of the enemy?  To make wrong look right and right to look wrong. It is time for believers to stand up and declare,  truth. It is only when the gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ, is shared that salvation comes forth. This is not our opinion or denominational hang ups, but the gospel that brings salvation.  Who will you share with today?
