Thursday Thoughts

Good morning,
My thoughts for this lovely Thursday morning.

Friends, please teach our children that their are thousands of a black people that contributed to society beside MLK and Rosa Parks. I'm not slighting their contributions, but we have a vast array of talented people that are never explored.

Next if we want the next generation to do better, we have do better. Our children need more examples of well dressed,  articulate, God fearing people in their line of vision. Every situation shouldn't end with a hand clapping eye roll. All situations are not worth loosing your cool over.

Finally, since I'm on a kid soapbox today, make your kids get up and get to school. I have a kid that might come once a week. How much are you missing while your chillin at the crib? Then you want to know why he can read. You want to know why he has all f's and complains that school is hard. I bet it is he/she has no skills. But how much harder is life going to be in this modern world with few basic skills?
You might not have kids at home anymore, but talk to the kids at church. Make sure they are getting to school and contributing to their education.

And as always...live Blessed

Wednesday word

Good morning it is time for our Wednesday word. Today I want to share with you from Proverbs, the book of wisdom.

Proverbs 4:23-27 Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that’s where life starts.Don’t talk out of both sides of your mouth;avoid careless banter, white lies, and gossip. Keep your eyes straight ahead;ignore all sideshow distractions.Watch your step, and the road will stretch out smooth before you.Look neither right nor left; leave evil in the dust.

Let's look at a few points this morning. Keep vigilant watch over your heart. I think this is so important because most of us tend to have pretty busy schedules but it's says to keep vigilant watch. Anytime you are vigilant you pursue hard after.   Our heart is the place where life flows from. Without our heart operating correctly everything else begins to be hindered.

What is in your heart? Is it hope, love, joy and peace? Hum. Maybe there is anger, bitterness,  unforgiveness, and hate. If we don't watch, the negativity of this world will set up residence in us and you won't know, why or how, but it move in and take over. Guard your heart.

How do I guard it? The first way is by what you ingest.  What do we read, watch, and listen to? The next thing is your environment.  It plays a huge part in how your heart flows. Junk in creates a junky heart. Final, how is your connection with God? You can't be lukewarm and have a hot heart.

Once you have control of your heart and control of your tongue, which is just an outcry of what is in your heart. We know that the mouth speaks what the heart feels.  It tells us to look straight ahead. It does matter what anybody else is doing.  Run your race. Don't get sidetracked by people who are running faster or slow down because there are those that are not running your speed.

Set your pace and be focused.  We run so that we get the prize. Pace yourself and be aware of your heart beat.  Don't get out of your lane. Watch what we say, because it shows us what's in our heart. Look neither right nor left and leave evil in the dust.

I pray that you have phenomenal day guarding your heart. And as always...live Blessed

Monday Motivation

Good Monday morning,
Wow we are almost at the end of January. Can you believe how quickly time flies by?
Today is Monday motivation so I wanted share a quote with you from WEB DeBois. The quote in its entirety will be posted for you but I will give the essence.  Be ready at anytime to give up what you, for what you can become.

I thought this was a pretty profound thought. Change is hard, but neccessary is we are coming move into our purpose. Ask yourself am I living my best life? Look around at your circumstances.  Is this where planned to be? Do you even have plan for your life or are you letting life plan you? Don't be afraid of CHANGE. It's not a death sentence, but an opening to your future.

Don't be afraid to embrace your future with open arms and ask God to guy your feet so that you stay in his will.  Be blessed my sister.  The old people used to say wear this world like a loose garment. Don't be too attached to anything because there is greater ahead. Wouldn't be ashamed if you held on to the little so tight that the greater had to be given to someone else.
Remember...live Blessed

Thursday Thoughts

Good morning.
Today is Thursday, so I will be sharing my thoughts. So here we go. The state of public education is deplorable these days. I don't know if you have been following the teacher walk out in Detroit,  but the condition in which they are asking the students and faculty to work under make no sense.  No other public sector job would allow children to be in the presence of mold and mice dropping on a daily. We have to do better.
Those of us in Kansas please be aware those most of the yahoos on the education committee are bound and determined to get rid of public education as we know it. It is there objective to pay teacher as little as possible and demand they do more.
One thing that people that don't work in the system don't understand is that school doesn't look like,  or feel like what you remember as school. Because of people who have not set their foot in a classroom, we spend weeks testing our kids to death. For what? Are they any smarter cause they can take a test? If you ask me, we are going backwards. I sat in a meeting the other and walked away with the thought, hum how did we do it before all of these checklist,  to do list and all of this other dog and pony show business?

Anyway,  I said all of that say this. People Donald Trump is NOT going to make any of this better. He is a rich socialite that has no idea of what life is like for normal people. Do not let his magic show fool you into believing he cares about America. He definitely does not care about minorities and the poor so don't be deceived.  Register to vote and then do it.

Well that was what was on the top lol. As always...live Blessed

Wednesday word

Good morning,
I told you on yesterday I would share something from Dr. Watsons talk that struck me. So let me frame with part of the scripture he used. Daniel 6:18-23

The king then went back to his palace. He refused supper. He couldn’t sleep. He spent the night fasting.-20 At daybreak the king got up and hurried to the lions’ den. As he approached the den, he called out anxiously, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve so loyally, saved you from the lions?”-22 “O king, live forever!” said Daniel. “My God sent his angel, who closed the mouths of the lions so that they would not hurt me. I’ve been found innocent before God and also before you, O king. I’ve done nothing to harm you.” When the king heard these words, he was happy. He ordered Daniel taken up out of the den. When he was hauled up, there wasn’t a scratch on him. He had trusted his God.

In all of this situation it was Darrius, the King, that was up pacing the floor worried about Daniel. When you do the right thing, right results will happen. Daniel had nothing to fear. He had been praying three times a day. He had been seeking the face of God. Sweatless victory.

This is the part I had not thought about, Darrius goes to the lions den and begins to speak to Daniel and Daniel answers. That right there is shouting ground. You can be locked in ALL kinds of situations but God is a very present help. Seek him to shut the mouth of the lion so you can sleep at night. Seek him so that the people, that mean you evil see you walk out without even a scratch.

Not only was Daniel not eaten, but they did not even scratch him. And upon coming out he says, the lions are more hungry now then when I went in. God will put a hedge of protection around you, and keep the enemy from doing what comes natural to him; steal, kill and destroy you.

There was no logical reason Daniel should have walked out, but God.  There was no reason he should not have been lion dinner, but God. There is no reason he should have answered the king, but God. No reason he should have had no scratches, but God.  Whatever you're going through God can bring you out.

Wednesday Word

Good morning,
I would like to share with you a little from bible class last night. We are focused right now on breaking the chains in our mind. This is a little longer then I normally go but it's good.

Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. — 1 Peter 1:13

Today I want to draw your attention to the phrase “gird up the loins of your mind” that is used in the verse above. This isn’t just an interesting phrase that Peter concocted when he wrote this verse. It is an extremely powerful and graphic picture that expresses something very important that you and I need to understand and apply in our lives!

This phrase “gird up the loins” comes from the Greek word anadzonnumi. This word was used to describe Orientals who wore long robes. Before taking a long journey or before running in a race, they would gather up their loose robes and tuck them up under their girdle.

Most frequently this word would be used to depict a runner who was running a race. To run freely and without hindrance, he would reach down to gather the long, dangling ends of his garments and then tuck them up under his belt. With the loose ends out of the way, he could then run freely and without distraction.

But the runner would get in trouble if he ever allowed his garments to fall down and become entangled in his legs. Even though he may have been picking up his stride and running a good race up to that point, the encumbrance of dangling, loosely hanging clothes would hinder his steps. And allowing those loose ends to keep dangling would have been a sure way to lose the race!

But notice that Peter is not talking about a garment made of material; he is referring to the loins of our minds. You see, Peter is telling us that if we don’t:deal with the loose ends that exist in our minds and emotions;correct those parts of our thinking that we know are wrong;
grab hold of all those dangling areas in our thinking and put them out of the way;
and remove them by the authority of the
Word of God —then we are choosing to permit things to exist in our lives that will hinder our steps and slow us down in our race and in our ability to successfully walk with God!

If we want to be successful in our spiritual lives and truly walk with God, then we must start by dealing with the “loins of our minds.” In other words, we must seek to deal with all the loose ends in our thinking that haven’t yet been submitted to the Word of God or surrendered to the Holy Spirit’s power.

If we deliberately allow wrong thinking and wrong believing to continue in our lives, we are making the same kind of mistake the runner does who deliberately allows his garment to hang down and get caught in his legs. This is why Peter admonishes us to tighten up those areas that the devil would try to grab hold of and use against us!

Are there any loose ends that you need to deal with in your life right now? If there are, I am certain you already know what those areas are! The Holy Spirit has been trying to deal with you about those areas for a long time, but have you been listening? If you continue to ignore His voice, you will pay the price of failure — of never realizing your maximum potential.

You see, God is only trying to help you when He speaks to you about the loose ends in your life. If you’re smart, you’ll stop everything you are doing to grab hold of those dangling ends and get them out of your way once and for all. Then you’ll be able to run the race set before you with no distractions!

So what are you going to do about the loose ends in your life today? If you’ll open your heart to the Holy Spirit’s help, He will assist you in identifying every area that needs your attention; then He will help you grab hold of those loose ends and move them out of your way forever!

As always...live Blessed

Tuesday Tools

Today on tuesday tools I want to share one of streams of income with you. It has been said that a successful person should have ways to bring income to them. How many do you have? If you only have one then you better get busy diversifying.

Well anyway,  one of my streams of income is a marvelous array of products under the company doTerra. What I like about these products is they are natural oils that will will a variety of issues. It really wasn't until I started using the products for myself that it dawned on me that in Jesus' day there was no such things as medicine. So if people were to recover it had to be with a natural remedy. I'm not telling you that they are a cure all or that you won't need medicine for some tjings, but I'm suggesting that sone of the medicine you take is the reason why you take some of the medicine you take. All drugs have a side effect. So just consider if you would rather keep taking medicine to remedy the medicine or use some natural items and take control.

Monday Motivation

Good Monday morning
I pray that you had an awesome weekend.
We celebrated the life of one of our dear cousins over this weekend,  it was a bittersweet occasion.  Sweet because we know if we live right heaven belongs to us,  yet bitter because it was unexpected and was a phenomenal mentor to many.
So I would just ask the question who are you mentoring?  What person from the next generation are you encouraging to be their very best.
She had been appointed as the first female bishop with full rights within our organization which was a position she didn't necessarily desire but was well deserving of. However saw herself as a woman that was a door opener for all of the women behind her. She would often say, "I've worked to hard for women to be recognized for you all not to walk through the open door".
Sometimes we take for granted the Giants that we have among us. Sistahs take the time to get to know each other,  take the time to esteem each other and finally take the time to pray for each other.

Friday Findings

This has come up several times this week so I will share it with you.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Thursday Thoughts

Good Thursday morning
My question for you this morning is have you made your war room? I don't know if there has ever been a time when communing with God was more important.  We had another earthquake in the Ks/Ok area last night. I know some of that is the result of man's choices but what is God allowing us to see? Just like we don't know the day,  time, length or intensity of the quakes we don't know when he's coming back.  Will you be ready?
You might be cool but I want to make it on the first trump.

Wednesday Word

Good morning,
I was awakened this morning to pray for marriages.  The enemy is fighting this bond so hard. I know all of you that read these are not marriage,  but everyone knows someone that is, so pray for them.
I don't really want to talk alot but leave you these scriptures to mediate on.
In the new year resolve to pray for your spouse for then you complain.
And as always remember to ...live Blessed

“Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone” (Colossians 4:6, NIV).

“What then shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31, NIV).

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:12, NIV).

“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful” (Hebrews 10:23, NIV).

As we embark upon this new year I want to remind you to write down your goals.
It is only when write them and visit them on a regular basis that they truly become alive in you. It is imperative that they not just remain on the paper but that you ingest them to the point that you can rehearse them to someone without your goal sheet.
I want to see you do phenomenal things in this world in 2016.
