Friday Focus

Good morning ,
Grace and peace be unto you!

Eating fruits and vegetables has many health benefits.

People who eat a healthy, balanced diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables can help lower their risk of:

Heart disease
Type 2 diabetes
Some types of cancer
Obesity
High blood pressure

Communities, health professionals, businesses, and families can work together to encourage people to eat more fruits and vegetables.

Make a difference: Spread the word about tips for healthy eating and encourage communities, organizations, families, and individuals to get involved.

How can Fruits & Veggies – More Matters Month make a difference?

We can use this month to raise awareness about the importance of getting enough fruits and vegetables.

Here are just a few ideas:

Spread the word about programs that support local agriculture.

Encourage families and co-workers to make small changes, like keeping fresh fruit or carrot sticks available and within easy reach.

Motivate local restaurants, stores, and other businesses to provide quality foods made with fresh fruits and vegetables.

Wednesday word

Good morning,
Grace and peace be unto you!

Then he touched their eyes and said, “Because of your faith, it will happen.”Then their eyes were opened, and they could see! Jesus sternly warned them, “Don’t tell anyone about this.”But instead, they went out and spread his fame all over the region. Matthew 9:29-31 NLT

What has God done for you that you can't wait to testify about? Wow, this is an amazing example of God's healing power and grace unto his people.

Yes, sometimes we get caught up in our own world's and can't see the blessing for what feels like a problem. I'm going to encourage you today to not go with your feelings. Rather, rely on the evidence. What are the facts? Feelings can be fickle at best. What is the truth concerning your situation?

These men just wanted to see. They didn't care how far they had to follow Jesus, they just wanted their eyes opened. Many people would have given when Jesus kept walking. It was their determination that pushed them to act upon their desperation.

What in your life is pushing you to change your circumstances?  Is the disdain of being in unpleasant situation enough that you bust a move? Today is the day. Get your vision back. Get your money back. Get your mind back. Get your peace back. And once your healed share your healing so that others will know they can be delivered too.

Until tomorrow

Transformation Tuesday

Good morning,
Grace and peace be unto you!

As we go about the process of transformation we have time when we realize that we have taken a bit of a side street. Not to any dark or dangerous place but a rabbit trail. It feels good. It smells good. It is aesthetically pleasing yet there is no satisfaction.

It is only in these times that we realize what we don't like in our lives. We begin to understand the things that trigger us and cause us to get off track. We begin to understand our vulnerabilities and weaknesses. While these times are uncomfortable they are necessary for our growth.

I encourage you to get go up on the proverbial balcony of your life and look down over your path. Look at the twist and the turns. Look at the places where you have had to make a complete you turn. Look at the places where you have been on the mountain and the places that the valley was your friend. Look at your victories and your joys. Look at the times that you failed and then the times you succeeded. This balcony view can help you can perspective. Learn what and who to cut out, when.

See in this season of transformation just like summer turns into fall some things have to begin the process of hibernation. Yes, some of your leaves are going to change color. They are going to fall off and you will spend some time in silence. While the silence can be deafening it can also be informative. Use this autumn season in your life to regroup. Get your sweaters out for the winter ahead.

You will not die, just hibernate for the winter. Gain your strength. Shuffle your tribe. Learn some new skills. Winter is coming but it is not here you. Get prepared.

Until tomorrow

Monday Motivation

Good morning,
Grace and peace be unto you!

Over the weekend I went to a mental health event where they showed the movie, Call Me Crazy. It was an eye-opener to the mental health issues that we see on a regular basis and might even experience ourselves. Ladies and gentlemen the only thing that is worse than living with a mental illness is not getting help. I know people say I don't want to take meds, but if you had diabetes you would not hesitate to take the metformin or insulin prescribed without question. Don't allow your pride to keep you in the dark cloud of depression, bipolar, schizophrenia, PTSD, or any other disorder might be plaguing you without getting help. You are worth it. Make sure that you are living your best life.

Transformation Tuesday

Good morning,
Grace and peace be unto you!

One of the most toxic things we do to each other as women is comparison. We are all unsatisfied with something in our lives but comparing to others won't fix it.

Ladies, you just have to love you. You are not created exactly like anybody else so comparing just creates more frustration than progress. You must be your own cheerleader. Affirm your success.

Thursday Thoughts

Good morning,
Grace and peace be unto you!

Change is something that is often rejected but is neccessary for progress. It is said that nobody likes change but a wet baby. This point could be debatable but we can all agree that at the least it's  difficult.

Everyone looks in the mirror and sees that none of us look today like we did on yesterday.  Time brings change. Our experiences help us to understand how to do things differently. Change, while difficult is necessary.

What do you need to change? Weight, mindset, attitude, job, prayer life, or just your eating habits.  We all have areas in which we can improve. What are you to do about your area?  Ignoring won't make them better and putting them off until tomorrow doesn't work either. Where will you being? How will you celebrate your wins? How will you determine victory?
You deserve this.

Wednesday Word

Good morning,
Grace and peace be unto you!

Worry weighs us down; a cheerful word picks us up. - Proverbs 12:25

So plain and simple isn't it? What kind of words are you speaking? Pick um ups or put um downs?

Yes, I know it is easy to get frustrated in your situations but if that moves into worry or fret it will weigh you, and those around you, down. We all know that one person (or more) that always has something negative to say about everything and everyone.  You start finding reasons to leave the room when they come. This is never a pleasant experience. Don't be that person.

Instead be that other person that you always find a reason to talk to. The person  that when you leave their presence you feel like you could jump over walls and leap over troops. You are charged and ready to go.

The more we talk about our words and the power they have, the more we have opportunities to practice what we talk about. In toastmasters, you are made aware of your filler words. Once you know them you are more conscious of them and watch their use. Much like this, non productive word can fill your vocabulary and you not be aware. Listen to your conversations. What things are you saying that will not produce cheer and are definitely not picking anyone up? It's time to shift. You have too much beauty and light in you not to share it with others. You might be the only light they see all day.

Transformation Tuesday

Good morning,
Grace and peace be unto you!

Transforming our lives starts with getting to the root of your behavior. When you understand who, what, when, and where you can move forward. I know some of you will say but you missed the why. More often then not the answer to why alludes you and can cause you to get stuck. Recognize the new seeds you are planting. Will this good plant choke out the old or do you need to totally up root somethings before you will see the harvest you want?

As the natural seasons change it signals you  to really look at your life. Ask yourself. What things do I need to up root before this last quarter of 2018? What mindsets need to shift? A shift in mindset is necessary to see a bountiful harvest.

Monday Motivation

Good morning,
Grace and peace be unto you!

A new day in this new month. Now that is something to be thankful for. What are you committed to?  As I look around society as a whole, has a commitment problem. Whether it is relationships, church, or jobs. Society has produced people that are afraid to stay committed.

One might ask why commitment is so hard. That would be beause it takes work. Being committed to another person, a job, or an organizations takes time and commitment to be successful. Are you willing to put in the work?

The other issue is that women will take care of  commitments to everyone but themselves. Ladies everytime you lie to yourself you break trust. Some can not be true to their commitments to others because lying to yourself has become the norm. When you don't trust your follow through, you won't trust others. To thine own self be true. Make the commitment below to get your thoughts, actions, and decisions right. Some of just looked at that and said that is whole lot. Your right. So, I will ask you to get your thoughts right. If that happens the rest will follow. Right thinking will produce right decisions and actions. Get committed.

Wednesday Word

Good morning,
Grace and peace be unto you!

Mark 1:7-8 As he preached he said, “The real action comes next: The star in this drama, to whom I’m a mere stagehand, will change your life. I’m baptizing you here in the river, turning your old life in for a kingdom life. His baptism—a holy baptism by the Holy Spirit—will change you from the inside out.”

There is so much hate for the church on social media these days until I am starting to belief this is the enemies prime way of wooing  people away from the word of God. I will be the first to say that no the church doesn't do everything right. It is made up of free thinking, free willed people that don't always use best judgement but so is every organization that you ad I are a part of. No organization that has more than one person is going to be problem free.

It is time for the church to seek direction for how to be the light that will draw people to the pool of baptism. We all need that holy spirit that will change from the inside out.

If your light has been fired and now it's dim it's time for a recharge. If you have never had the light time to get fired up. This next way of foolishness that is happening in our society will not be able to be traversed without the help of a savior. You and I must have a kingdom experience. Don't wait. Jesus is calling.

Transformation Tuesday

Good morning,
Grace and peace be unto you!

As we continue transforming our lives let's think about vision. Vision instills a sense of purpose and keeps you on track. Your vision guides your communication,  decisions, and reflection.

Something to consider as you move toward developing your own personal vision statement. Joel Barker says, Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision just passes the time. Vision with action can change the world.
