Transformation Tuesday

Good morning,
Grace and mercy be unto you!

Today in our Transformation Tuesday we are going to discuss depression.

Too often when someone is going through depression they face an embarrassment factor that keeps them from reaching out for help. That perceived lack of help can send one further into depression because the story they tell themselves is nobody cares about me. Along with generally comes I am just a burden on those around me so I should just die.

It is not always important for you to fix the problem, (most of us have the answer if we take the time to process) it is that you are there to listen. Be a good sounding board for your friends/family.

Be a watchful eye. Everyone that is interviewed after a suicide will say yeah they had changed. When you see changes on loved ones ask about them.

Be persistent in your pursuit to help them through because often the answer to what is wrong is nothing.

Make sure that you are asking powerful questions. Like, How do feel different today them regular days?  What can I do or say to help you through this difficult time? Do you want a fix or do you want me to listen? Truse there are tons of more powerful questions then those but asking what's wrong wI'll not get you the answer you need to get in to the hurt place.

Depression does make you broken and isn't permanent, but it can't be ignored. Putting all of your emotions in a box on the shelve will not bring you peace. At the end of the day each of us are simply seeking inner peace. In the takes some work to achieve said peace bit it is worth it.

Until tomorrow
