Wednesday Word
I woke up this morning with this song on my mind...
There's a miracle in this room
With my name on it
There's a healing in this room
And it's is here for me
There's a breakthrough in this room
With my name on it
So what you gone do
I'm gonna put a praise on it
So I'm gonna put a praise on it
Tasha Cobbs - Put A Praise On It Lyrics | MetroLyrics
I don't know about you but are some areas in my life that I need a breakthrough in and it is imperative that I praise God even before I receive it. Just like we as parents, relatives, or friends like to get praise when we have made a sacrifice for someone, how much more does our heavenly father want to receive praise for the many blessings he births into our lives?
As children we made sure that our room was clean, the dishes were done and our homework was finished when we knew we wanted to ask for something. We ask our heavenly father for things all day, every day and so we need to make sure that we have laid a foundation for our ask. Then every now and then we need to just give a praise that is not attached to anything but a praise.

Thursday Thoughts
The week is almost at its close, wow.
This summer has come in like a beast. Please make sure that you are checking on people that don't have air conditioning. There have not been any heat related deaths, that I have heard of, but let's be mindful.
A thought, for those of you that drive around alot, put a small cooler of cold water in your car and pass them to homeless people as you drive around. A great way to demonstrate the love of God to our brothers and sisters.

Good morning
I woke up thinking about how faithful God is to us even when we are not so faithful to him. It is so awesome to really evaluate all of the marvelous blessings that have bestowed on each of us. Too often we repay this kindness with our own selfishness and personal will, but God looks beyond that, and sees the intent of our heart.
So, this week let's think about and enact ways that we can demonstrate our faithfulness back to our savior. Who are we supposed to encourage and bless this week? We must demonstrate his faithfulness to us through our lives and interaction with our community.

Monday Motivation
Good Monday morning,
I just want to encourage you this morning, to reach for the stars. I know we all get frustrated and side tracked from our goals, but today we all need stop and refocus.
This is the first day of summer and a great day to reevaluate. What am I doing, where am I going and how am I going to get there? Sometimes we get bogged down in the details (trust I am detail oriented) but we need to just keep pushing even when everything doesn't line up exactly like we want it to.
Resistance makes us stronger and studying makes us more knowledgeable. Use your strength and knowledge to push to the next level.
Many heros and sheroes have gone before. Who is watching you? Who Believes That YOU Are A Hero Or shero? Don't disappoint them.
And as always. ..remember to live Blessed

Thursday Thoughts for you this morning. I don't know if this works or not but read the article below. It's definitely worth a try. Last night's rain was horrible! I got caught in a mini typhoon. OMG talk about scary, especially out here in the dark of the woods.
But after it clears up we are going to have tons of mosquitos because of all this standing water.

Wednesday Word
Good Wednesday morning. Be careful today it is supposed to be extremely hot. Lots of water.
I don't know about you, but I just want to make it to heaven. When you look at all of the crazy things that are happening in this world, any day could be our last day we just don't know. Everyday is going to need to be lived as if it's our last in our relationships and in our dealings. Not from a sense of fear but of preparedness.
Do you have life insurance? Is it current? Does a family member know where it is? Do you have funeral plans prepared? These all sound like morbid questions but I promise you, those people that went to have fun, in Florida, didn't expect for it to be their last night.
Will you we ready when it's our time? Will we be able see God's face in peace and have him to say, well done my good and faithful servant, enter into your rest? Or will the crazy mixed up world that we are living in be the only heaven that we know? It's time start thinking.

Wednesday Word
Good morning,
Psalms 10:4 says, In his pride the wicked man does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God.
Do you have room in your heart for God or have you allowed pride to fill all of the space? It is very easy to believe that your achievement happen because of your own doings. Great men have been brought down because of pride. Whenever you can't get help or correction from anybody look out for pride.
Pride will make a starving man not ask for food. If you allow it to take over, much like greed, you will not be able to stop it. Do a pride check today. If you see that conversations are full what I can do. It is time to pray that God will cleanse your heart and create a right spirit. Sisters it is so easy to be deceived.
And as alwsys...remember to live Blessed

Good morning,
I pray that you had an awesome weekend.
In memory of Muhammad Ali I want you to really think about this quote. “Only a man who knows what it is like to be defeated can reach down to the bottom of his soul and come up with the extra ounce of power it takes to win when the match is even.”
Have you ever been defeated? I know I have. But we have to use even the roughest of situations that we face as a learning tool. The only way that we know that we have learned something is by teaching soneone else. Take the lessons from every defeat to reach deeper and to pick someone else up.

Friday Findings
Good morning,
In light of all of talk of introducing our kids to things they need to know, and in commemoration of the anniversary this week, I present...
Greenwood Oklahoma, a suburb of Tulsa, was the type of community that African Americans are still, today, attempting to reclaim and rebuild. It was modern, majestic, sophisticated and unapologetically Black. Tragically, it was also the site of one of the bloodiest and most horrendous race riots (and acts of terrorism) that the United States has ever experienced.
Today marks ninety-two years since as many as 300 African Americans lost their lives and more than 9,000 were left homeless when the small town was attacked, looted and literally burned to the ground beginning in 1921. It’s impossible, however, to realize what was lost in Greenwood, which was affectionately known as "Black Wall Street."
The Greenwood community seems almost imagined when we examine it through a historical lens. The oil booms of the early 1900’s had many moving to Tulsa for a shot at quick economic gains and high life, and African Americans hoped to prosper from the new industry as well. Tulsa, like many cities and towns throughout the US, was hostilely segregated, with African Americans settling into the northern region of the city. As we often saw before integration, Blacks in the area created entrepreneurial opportunities for themselves, which housed an impressive business center that included banks, hotels, cafes, clothiers, movie theaters, and contemporary homes. Greenwood residents enjoyed many luxuries that their White neighbors did not, including indoor plumbing and a remarkable school system that superiorly educated Black children.
It was pure envy, and a vow to put progressive, high achieving African Americans in their place that would cause the demise of the Black Mecca many called “Little Africa”, and its destruction began the way much terrorism, violence and dispossession against African Americans did during that era. A young White woman accused a young Black man of attempted sexual assault, which gave local mobs and White men acting as police just cause to invade the unsuspecting community. On the malevolent and horrifying attack, Linda Christenson writes the following:
"The term “race riot” does not adequately describe the events of May 31—June 1, 1921 in Greenwood... In fact, the term itself implies that both blacks and whites might be equally to blame for the lawlessness and violence. The historical record documents a sustained and murderous assault on black lives and property. This assault was met by a brave but unsuccessful armed defense of their community by some black World War I veterans and others.
During the night and day of the riot, deputized whites killed more than 300 African Americans. They looted and burned to the ground 40 square blocks of 1,265 African American homes, including hospitals, schools, and churches, and destroyed 150 businesses. White deputies and members of the National Guard arrested and detained 6,000 black Tulsans who were released only upon being vouched for by a white employer or other white citizen. Nine thousand African Americans were left homeless and lived in tents well into the winter of 1921."
Recently, the mother of a Palestian activist friend of mine asked me why African Americans don’t fight harder for reparations. It was a difficult question to answer, but my most immediate response centered on the historical erasure of communities like Greenwood and the state-sponsored violence against African Americans that created its expiry. Even after slavery was abolished, any advancements towards the American dream, that Blacks paid most dearly to establish, was met with revulsion and terror, often from those whose legal obligation was to serve and protect. For that a debt is surely owed. Further, when we consider the deaths of those Black Tulsans and the inevitable property loss that followed, we again see one example of many that proves how wealth inequities and disparities became a part of the substance of this nation- inequities and disparities that must be considered before we go blaming Black youth for the catastrophes this nation has endorsed.
And as we consider what has become the new face of terror, we should never forget that Greenwood was bombed from the sky by White local and national law enforcement organizations.

Thursday Thoughts
Today I am overjoyed by the support that has been shown for my upcoming run for Senate. I know that many of you might not live in my district but I could still use your help in making this run a success. I will need a lot of prayer, money, marketing, and volunteers.
When I decided to run I was not sure exactly where I wanted to go and prayed for guidance. I believe that God opens the doors that he wants to be opened, for the time and season he wants them to be open. The song in my spirit this morning is this one:
I don't know about tomorrow
I just live from day to day
I don't borrow from its sunshine
For its skies may turn to gray
I don't worry o'er the future
For I know what Jesus said
And today I'll walk beside Him
For He knows what is ahead
You can listen to it below.

Wednesday Word
Good morning
I wanted to share a passage of scripture with you today. It comes from Proverbs 11; Without good direction, people lose their way;the more wise counsel you follow, the better your chances.
So I would ask, Who are you listening to? Many of our friends and family have good intentions, but their counsel may not exhibit wisdom. It is absolutely essential in these crazy times that you seek wish counsel.
It is also a must that you have a diversified pool of counselors. Much like you need seven streams of income to become wealthy, you need people that are experts in their fields to guide you along the way. A person might know alot about a lot, but they don't know everything about everything. Lol. Seek WISE counsel. As wise counselors pour into you remember, it is your obligation, to pour into someone else.
