Good morning it is time for our Wednesday word. Today I want to share with you from Proverbs, the book of wisdom.
Proverbs 4:23-27 Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that’s where life starts.Don’t talk out of both sides of your mouth;avoid careless banter, white lies, and gossip. Keep your eyes straight ahead;ignore all sideshow distractions.Watch your step, and the road will stretch out smooth before you.Look neither right nor left; leave evil in the dust.
Let's look at a few points this morning. Keep vigilant watch over your heart. I think this is so important because most of us tend to have pretty busy schedules but it's says to keep vigilant watch. Anytime you are vigilant you pursue hard after. Our heart is the place where life flows from. Without our heart operating correctly everything else begins to be hindered.
What is in your heart? Is it hope, love, joy and peace? Hum. Maybe there is anger, bitterness, unforgiveness, and hate. If we don't watch, the negativity of this world will set up residence in us and you won't know, why or how, but it move in and take over. Guard your heart.
How do I guard it? The first way is by what you ingest. What do we read, watch, and listen to? The next thing is your environment. It plays a huge part in how your heart flows. Junk in creates a junky heart. Final, how is your connection with God? You can't be lukewarm and have a hot heart.
Once you have control of your heart and control of your tongue, which is just an outcry of what is in your heart. We know that the mouth speaks what the heart feels. It tells us to look straight ahead. It does matter what anybody else is doing. Run your race. Don't get sidetracked by people who are running faster or slow down because there are those that are not running your speed.
Set your pace and be focused. We run so that we get the prize. Pace yourself and be aware of your heart beat. Don't get out of your lane. Watch what we say, because it shows us what's in our heart. Look neither right nor left and leave evil in the dust.
I pray that you have phenomenal day guarding your heart. And as always...live Blessed
