Our word for this morning comes from Hebrews 4:12 (AMP)
12 For the word of God is living and active and full of power [making it operative, energizing, and effective]. It is sharper than any two-edged [a]sword, penetrating as far as the division of the [b]soul and spirit [the completeness of a person], and of both joints and marrow [the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Isn't it awesome how the word of God can energize us, operate on us and put us back together all at the same time. What a mighty God we serve.
Growing up we used to sing a song that said God's not dead, he's still alive. His word is not either. It is alive and active. If we will only work the word it will work for us.
I like that the word is precise. If it can distinguish between the bone and marrow then it won't cut out anything you need but it won't leave anything that will harm. God's word can even do something that we humans cannot do. It can judge and expose the very thoughts and intentions of the heart. Many times people will say God knows my heart. Exactly, he knows exactly what your intentions are and that your nice nasty attitude is not of him. LOL
God's word is our keeper, healer, deliverer and our peace.
