Wednesday word

Good morning,
Grace and peace be unto you!

Our word for today comes from
Romans 6: 8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him

Death is an interesting phenomenon because it can be both literal and metaphoric.

The death of Jesus on the cross was a very literal and public example for all to see. See his death much like many of the death we are seeing now, was senseless, in the fact that he had committed no crime. However, on the other hand it was very necessary for the remission of our sins. Only a blameless sacrifice would do. Only one that had been tried and proven worthy could sacrifice his like for our stead. None of us could have done it. Only Jesus.
He took his literal death so that we can live each and every day. Without his literal death you and I would not have the opportunity to have a  figurative death each day. Yes each and every day you have the opportunity to die to self. You have the choice to put yourself on a figurative cross each day and die to everything that keeps you from being in the presence of God but will you do it?

It is easy for us to think about the sacrifice made by Christ and applaud but will you be a sacrificial lamb? No, you can not die for me, but you must die to and for yourself daily.

No he didn't have to die for us but he did and for that I am so greatful. Take the time this week/end to reflect on your blessings. Take time to thank God for all of the many blessings you have experienced.  He has been just that good.

Until tomorrow
#liveBlessed
