Thursday Thoughts

Good morning
Grace and peace be unto you!
It is a season of grace and favor. Get in the vain and receive everything that has been held up. Your blessings will overtake you but you have to be in a position to receive.

I Kings 17 tells us God then told Elijah, “Get out of here, and fast. Head east and hide out at the Kerith Ravine on the other side of the Jordan River. You can drink fresh water from the brook; I’ve ordered the ravens to feed you.”

Elijah could have an attitude because nasty birds were going to bring him food or he could be at the place of his blessing and receive. Don't miss your blessing because of the package it comes in. Yes, ravens generally eat and scavenge dead things but this scavenger is bringing life.
Life or death...it's a choice.

Wednesday Word

Good morning,
Grace and peace be unto you!

Forget the former things. This is a small statement but it can be difficult when the situation happened in the past but the people are still in the present. The word tells us to forget the former things and do not dwell on the past.

While it may not be easy to forget you can choose not to dwell. Get your mind busy on other things and people. If I fill my time and space with people that fill me and allow me to see my value I can move forward. By moving forward I can get the new thing referred to.

See I can't get new when I'm holding on to the old. The new isn't  springing up when the old shriveled up plants from last year are still in place. Rip out the old. It's dead! Spring is around the corner. What do you and I need to up root so we can get springs best?

Transformation Tuesday

Good morning,
Grace and peace be unto you!

Sisters as we transform our worlds one the first thing that must change is our environment. See it does us no good to take a bath and then go wallow in the dirt. If we change our mindsets but don't change our environment we will be polluted with the same foolishness we just came out of.

Look at the people that you surround yourself with. Are they always asking you for a favor but never can come through for you? Are they constantly talking about other people and putting people down? Do they ever give to others without having their hand out for a return? Do they build more than tear down? If you have answered no to the majority of these then it is time to exit stage right. Many cool people may not be cool for you.

When you realize that your path and the path of those that you have associated yourself are no longer aligned it is time to make some transformational moves. Remember, at the core of you being whole, is you! Don't compromise you for anyone. You might not ever get you back.

Monday Motivation

Good morning,
Grace and peace be unto you!

I want to just speak to a woman out there that has been struggling with being misunderstood. Sister keep pushing. Set your standard and don't compromise it for likes. People are fickle. They will like you this morning and discard you this afternoon. Fulfill your assignment. Don't every intentionally hurt people because karma is a beast, but don't spend valuable time worrying about othe people's opinions. Like bellybuttons everybody has one. Remember, just because they have one does not mean that it will get you to your desired goal.

Until tomorrow

Wednesday Word

Good morning,
Grace and peace be unto you!

Something to think about on this cold Wednesday. Easter is just around the corner, which means that Lent starts next week. Yes, Wednesday, March 6th is the beginning of Lent for this Easter season.

So, what is Lent and why should I participate?

Lent is the six week period leading up to Easter. It’s one of the most important times of year for many Christians around the world, particularly those within the Anglican, Catholic and Orthodox traditions, held at a similar level of importance to Advent – the build-up to Christmas.

While Advent is a celebration and a time of great anticipation, Lent is more frequently seen as a time of solemn observance and preparation for the celebration of the death and resurrection of Jesus at Easter. From its start on Ash Wednesday until its conclusion on Easter Sunday, Lent has been a traditional time for fasting or giving something up or abstinence.

Just as we carefully prepare for events in our personal lives, like a wedding, or birthday; a commencement Lent invites us to make our minds and hearts ready for remembering Jesus’ life, death, and bodily resurrection.

These days, Christians around the world observe Lent in many ways. Many from more orthodox and traditional denominations will still observe the fast strictly, beginning with the wearing of ashes on Ash Wednesday and abstinence of meat, fish, eggs, and fats until Easter Sunday.

Others will choose to give up just one item for Lent, more commonly a ‘luxury’ such as chocolate, meat or alcohol. It is also becoming increasingly common for people to give up other things in order to refocus their faith during this time; such as watching TV, going to the gym, even social media.
Many Christians also use Lent to study their Bibles and pray more intensively, making use of the many devotional books and courses now available too.

And, of course, more and more Christians are turning to the 40 acts challenge (we will talk more about this soon) as a way of doing Lent differently; using simple daily reflections and acts of generosity as a way of putting others first during preparations for Easter.

Transformational Tuesday

Good morning,
Grace and peace be unto you!

Friends today I want to talk about the difference between reality and perception. It is very easy for us to get blindsided by reality when the perceived reality seems so much more narrow. See when we see a person's behaviors it is easy to just say they are crazy or they are a hot head but reality says that there is way more to the situation then what we see on the surface.

What is really going on? How is their past shaping their present? Just like the picture below only a small piece of person's reality is shown. It is all of the baggage that is below the surface that sink relationships with others. Don't allow yourself to live on the surface. Find out

Wellness Is Bigger Than What’s on Your Plate

For years, when we talked about wellness, the conversation usually sounded familiar: eat better, exercise more, drink your water, get enough...
